    Good Morning All!
Everyone sleeping in or out and about already.
Will unpack the rest of the stuff in suitcase and leave some there for Thursday's trip.
Bought some stuffed pork chops at Pricechopper so that's tonight's dinner. Will makes some mashed sweets with apple cinnamon syrup in them that I got from Stonewall Kitchens and some baby brussel sprouts.
Hope all have a god day.

Good Morning, Pat! Love the pic! I know you have some rough tasks ahead of you, sorry you have to go through that. Glad that you will get a break next weekend!
NO clue about supper here tonight. I defrosted way too many boneless chicken tenderloins, (I use them when I'm cooking something that I'm using chunked up chicken, quicker and easier to cut up), anyway...everything I can think of that I want to have tonight really needs a full breast or thigh...(really don't want chicken again. lol). SO anyway...gonna prowl through the recipes and see what strikes my fancy.
Hope everyone has a great day!

I was hoping for a picture from your trip this morning Pat! It's beautiful! The leaves have really started to change there already! Even though I am not a sweet potato or brussel sprout person, your dinner sounds devine and very fallish!
Good luck with the chicken tenderloins and dinner choices Lori. I think I'm going to finally try Wynne's famous Chipotle burgers and Aioli sauce. I think I've got all the ingredients and it is an absolutely gorgeous sunny blue sky fall day here today, so a perfect day to fire up the grill.

    Chipotle Burgers

    Chipotle Aioli

Have a nice day ahead of me. Have a haircut appointment this morning and then off to pick up a 25 lb. box of beef from the local Farmer's Association. Then over to the Farmer's Market and then into town to run a few errands. My new glasses are ready to be picked up and Hubby has joined a Badminton Club on Wednesday's so needs to go buy a new racket.
Must go rustle up some breakfast. You have me craving pancakes now that you mentioned that apple cinnamon syrup Pat. Have a great day everyone!

    Crispy morning greetings to everyone.
It's a riot when the thermometer dropping below 70 degrees translates into crispy.
Must be the hottest summer on record really settling in.
Got into the black a little bit from yesterdays farmers market.
A nice shower to get rid of the grimy icky stickys and I melted into the bed for the afternoon, evening, and night.
A trip to the store this morning will set us up with some pork chops today and tuna noodle casserole tomorrow.
Hopefully I won't waste the day today and get some more tree trimming done.
    Good cooking.

Thanks Lori for your thoughts.Unpacking and repacking today, changing the bed and have an easy dinner so that is good. Have to call brother in Fla to talk about the house.Love him dearly but talks non-stop and I am not a phone person after working them so many years. Oh well, this too shall pass.
Janet, sounds like a busy and fun day.
    Wynne,enjoy those rib-eyes.
Don't overdo on the work Points, you are not as young as you used to be.LOL!
Putting lots of pics of trip on facebook and will pop some on and off avatar.

Sounds like a great day, Janet! Enjoy!
Wynne, glad you are having the celebratory dinner and with champagne, too! YIPPEE! Sounds awesome.
I thought about stirfry, but I like it over rice and there is no way I can get Bryan to go for rice twice in the same week...or pasta, either. : ( Don't have most of the veggies, either. But thanks, that's one of my "go to" recipes with chicken tenderloin, too. Pickins are kinda slim, even though I made the big grocery run last week. Bryan went with me (always a mistake, lol) and wouldn't let me buy meat because he'd bought all those boxes of frozen chicken and steak...well...that's wonderful, but we aren't going to eat the same thing everyday...I know us too well! lol Oh well, he will figure it out soon enough. Saw Rachel Ray do a chicken pasta dish that looked wonderful the other night, but it's too soon after spaghetti for him, I will have to hold off on that one.

Hope you enjoy the burger, Janet....Faves for us.

Lori, I usually just throw linguine right into the stir fry so I don't have to put it on top of anything....and it stretches the meal.....Kinda like a lo mein-stir fry combo....Hey, I should post it, huh...LOL

So, change of plans here and I'm a little pissed about it.....The BIL called last night and asked us to go to the dance club tonight as it's SIL's birthday this week and he's throwing her a little party there....So, Les says can't make it as we have plans....(Hooray for Les) and this morning we get a call practically begging us to go....Les gave in (Boo for Les).....I'm not happy about not getting appropriate notice....and it ruins the "plans" I had......Guess since he tolerated my family for so long I can tolerate his, huh......Steaks tomorrow....No clue what's for tonight.....Snagged some NE hot dog rolls this week so maybe some grilled tuna rolls with them...yup, that's it.

Yes Wynne, your attitude is a good one. The tuna rolls sound good and the steaks are something to look forward to for tomorrow.
Jeanne made pumpkin pancakes for lunch from my Stonewall Kitchens mix and we had apple cinnamon syrup on them. Yum!

Wynne, sorry your plans got runied! Hope you have fun tonite, and you should post your lo mein stir fry! I won't get away with pasta twice in one week, either...lol...too similar to spaghetti...go figure. I seasoned up the chicken tenderloins with the same "rub" I put on the pulled pork, and put them in the crockpot with my "almost:" homemade bbq sauce. Will have bbq chicken subs, slaw and chips. (Subs because I have philly steak style rolls and light bread...lol).
    Pat that syrup sounds wonderful!!

Hi Points! I thought of your preserves as we were doing the rounds at the Farmer's Market today but there was not a quart jar in sight. I took a couple of pictures which I'll download this next week if they turned out. There were some beautiful pint size boxes of heirloom carrots selling for $5/pint. I didn't buy them but I did admire them. We got two great buys. A huge, honkin cabbage for $2 and an armful of basil for $5. The basil was a bit past its prime but the price was good and I'll just have to sort through it. Am going to get down to Pesto making in a moment.
I like your new avatar Pat and look forward to seeing more pics as you change it.
I checked out the tuna rolls and they look yummy Wynne! You'll have fun out dancing this evening. Nice to have conflict like "Steak and Champagne at home" or "Dancing and Party out?". Ha-ha.
Your BBQ chicken subs sound really good Lori.
Okay....off to my date with the basil......

Nice pic, Pat. Your dinner sounds good too! So did your pancake lunch. Gotta go check out your pics on FB.

Lori, glad you settled your dinner dilemma. As I was reading down the page, I was thinking of something for you and by the end, you had decided. LOL Sounds good too.

Wynne, have a good time tonight - sorry it destroyed your plans, but you can celebrate tomorrow night now. I can't remember the last time we went dancing...

Sounds like you have/had a busy day, Janet. Good buys too. Good luck with the pesto making.

    Your dinner sounds delicious, P.

Change of plans on dinner tonight - ribs tomorrow, have to run to W. Seattle at 3:00 and wouldn't be able to do them on the smoker which I want to do once more before summer is over. So probably just have some grilled ham steak with Chipotle mango sauce and a big salad. Gotta use these damn tomatoes - gave away about 30 of 'em to the neighbors today. Be careful what you wish for, huh? LOL It cleared up nicely today and 70º after looking grim this morning. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Pesto is made. There was a lot of sun burned basil in the bunch so even though I didn't get ripped off, it wasn't as good of a deal as I initially thought. Had enough to make 24 cubes of pesto. If I come across some more this fall, although it is getting late in the season, I'll do one more batch. I mix it up in the food processor, add pine nuts and stir and then spoon into ice cube trays. I use one cube per serving but we use a lot of pesto between spaghetti and pizzas so its really nice to have a stock on hand.
I've got the burgers assembled and the Chipotle sauce made. Dipped my finger in and it tastes superb. Really looking forward to it. Clouded over here and the temperature is dropping.
Do you use the smoker a lot Donna? I've been eyeing one up for a few years but don't know if I'd use it enough. Your ham steak with the Chipotle mango sauce sounds most excellent.
Is that a ski hill I guess in your avatar now Pat? Did they offer rides up the lift to view the autumn leaves? A few of the hills around here offer that.

Enjoy those burgers, Janet. That's great on the pesto cubes. I do use the smoker more than we use too. It helps to get used to it, then you don't mind firing it up. It's a Big Green Egg. We love it. Thanks on the ham. I tried it once and ever since, that's the way we like it. That Chipotle Mango sauce is from Good Housekeeping's Good Food line. Comes in a jar. It's spicy though.
Brad ended up going to Seattle without me. So I guess I could've done the ribs. Oh well, tomorrow. It sure did get sultry out. Kinda muggy and 73º - not that I'm complaining after all that rain lately.

Hey all, everyones dinner sounds great. Just got home from Macy's and had a frozen pizza. Frank and Rachel went out to eat and Becca is at a pizza party./sleepover. She has been doing a gluten free diet since sunday but she is going to have pizza tonight, so we will see how she feels. right now her neck is down 1 and 1/4 inches and she has a ton of energy. She really likes the way it feels. She said it was great playing soccer this morning and not feeing sluggish. She even got a goal.

Oh man...a Big Green Egg! They are incredible. They are creme de la creme. I have totally been eyeing those up. Heard they were healthier cooking in than a BBQ as you don't get the carcinogens. Again, I'm not sure we would use it enough to warrant the expense but they're gorgeous.
Your new dinner plans are equally delicious Pat. Nothing like a good Roast Beef in the fall time!
That is so awesome Laurie about Becca feeling better. Hurray for the goal!
Hubby's warming up the grill. Stomach's calling for the burgers. I picked up some fresh corn on the cob at the Farmer's Market to go with them.
Watched "Letters from Juliet" last night on Pay-Per-Vu. It was awesome. A total chick flick and extremely romantic but Hubby actually enjoyed it too. Tonight we might watch Michael Douglas in "A Solitary Man". I love Michael Douglas.

Benjamin called right before 8 p.m. so we missed the start of the movie so will try again tomorrow night. Lovely to hear his voice though and hear he's doing well.
Wynne....dinner was really great. Hubby hadn't expressed great anticipation of dinner when I said we were having hamburgers and then when I served him the Chipotle burgers with the Chipotle Aioli sauce he said "Wow". He admitted that he'd been getting tired of our plain old normal burgers over the summer and was really pleased with the change up. Loved the sauce, loved the chipotle peppers in Adobo sauce. It was really good. (Cleared out the old nasal passages too...holy smokes!) We're going to eat the remaining two for lunch tomorrow instead of freezing them so we don't waste the sauce.

The green egg is great. Friends we are visiting next weekend have one and love it. Don't know I would use enough to warrent expense also. Too bad we don't live closer Janet!
So glad Becca is better, big releif for Mom too.
Wanted to rent Letters from Juliet but not available so got Killers. My son tells me I am taking his Dad's (excuse me) balls away because he watches these chick flicks.Love this man!

LOL Pat. I think a lot of men secretly love chick flicks. Brad likes a lot of the sappy movies I like too. Ended up running to the little veg/fruit stand up the road and made a cucumber/tomato/zucchini/red onion/ black olive salad. Waiting to eat when Mr. HadtoShave gets out of the bthroom. Night all!

    Good evening all!

Donna, please try my stuffed tomatoes if you like the look & sound of them. I love smoked ribs! Don't have a smoker, or an outdoor space for that matter. Our favorite BBQ place slow smokes ribs & chicken and I just loooove their food. Called "Slows" for slow smoking. Yum!

Janet, I saw some frozen cubes of basil, cilantro and I don't quite remember what else @ Trader Joe's & thought they'd be good to just keep in the freezer in case I couldn't get fresh when needed from time to time. So, your pesto cubes are just so clever! I still haven't gotten my mini food processor yet but I have some basil I want to use up. I came across a chopping board pesto recipe & might give that a go. Glad you got to talk to Benjamin, too!

I was planning to make shrimp scampi for dinner but shared a "snack" of mall Chinese (bourbon chicken) with my beau hours ago and we didn't get hungry for dinner. Oh, well. Probably won't get to make it til Monday b/c we're going to a party tomorrow evening.
