Ingredients
  • Crust
  • 3 c flour
  • 1/2 c yellow cornmeal
  • 1 pk active dry yeast
  • 1 tbs sugar
  • 1/2 ts salt
  • 1 c cool water
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • Topping
  • 3 tbs garlic powder
  • 2 tbs dried oregano
  • 1 c pizza sauce
  • 3 c mozzarella cheese
  • 1 3/4 c Italian sausage bits
  • 1 1/2 c black olives
  • 2 c mushrooms
  • 3/4 c red onions
  • 1 c bacon bits

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Add packet of yeast to warm water & oil and let sit for 5 minutes or until yeast starts to bubble.
  3. Mix flour, cornmeal, 1 tbs brown sugar, 1 tbs garlic powder & salt together.
  4. Pour yeast mixture into flour and turn with a rubber scraper until all flour touches yeast mixture.
  5. Sprinkle flour on area to knead dough for 2 minutes, make into a ball.
  6. Lightly oil a bowl, place in bowl and cover with a damp towel. Let dough rise for an hour or until doubles in size. Punch dough (i like to let it rise twice makes crust more light and crisp).
  7. Sprinkle flower on area, take about half of dough and roll out to to place on a 13 x 9 inch pan.
  8. Brush olive oil or canola oil on baking pan.
  9. Bake crust for 10 minutes.
  10. Mix 2 tbs garlic powder & 1 tbs brown sugar in sauce.
  11. Spread sauce evenly on crust.
  12. Sprinkle 1 c mozzarella cheese, sausage, olives, mushrooms, red onions, bacon bits, cheese, & oregano evenly. (in that order)
  13. Bake for 25 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.
