Ingredients
- 2 cups cornmeal shopping list
- 1 cup plain flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 cup parsley, finely chopped shopping list
- ground cayenne pepper shopping list
- 2 eggs, beaten shopping list
- 1 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 1 cup green onion, finely chopped shopping list
- 2 tablespoons hot bacon drippings or oil shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (to taste) shopping list
- Deep fat,or veggie oil for frying shopping list
How to make it
- Combine all dry ingredients. Add eggs, buttermilk, onion, and oil or bacon drippings. Mix well. Drop in deep hot fat by spoonsful and brown on all sides.

Great post - I have three of his cookbooks and used to watch him on his cooking show. Miss him. No one else could cook they way he did.
