Memphis-Style Barbecue Sauce

- 1 tablespoon butter shopping list
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups ketchup shopping list
- 1/4 cups chili sauce shopping list
- 3 to 4 tablespoons brown sugar shopping list
- 3 to 4 tablespoons molasses shopping list
- 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard shopping list
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice shopping list
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1 tablespoon liquid hickory smoke flavoring shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or granulated garlic shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper shopping list
- 1 teaspoon chili powder shopping list
- dash cayenne pepper, or to taste shopping list
How to make it
- In a saucepan, slowly saute the chopped onion in butter until soft and just beginning to turn yellow.Add remaining ingredients.Simmer for about 15 minutes.Taste and adjust seasonings.Delious on chopped pork sandwiches or use with chicken.
