Ingredients
  • Crust:
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup self rising flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • Filling:
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dary karo syrup or molasses
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

Directions
  1. For crust, pour melted butter in a 9 x 13 casserole dish.
  2. Mix the next 3 ingredients and pour over butter.
  3. For filling, mix together and pour over crust mixture.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until done.
  5. Layer the ingredients as listed and do not stir pan.

Zena, you're trying to get me into that mumu FAST, aren't you? I love pecan pie, so how could I possibly resist this one?!? Man, does that sound yummy...


This is one of those wonderful recipes whereby which you have mostly everything on hand, so once I go pick up some pecans, I am ready to make this!!!


Let's see you melt the butter, chop the pecans....that let's out all the calories. Sounds wonderful and easy to make.


Man,my favorite pie is pecan pie ! I will absolutely HAVE to make this !!! The only problem is I will end up eating the entire pan by myself ! :o)

I made this recipe and highly recommend it! It is so much easier than the traditional pie, and it is slightly less sweet, which we like. Good with vanilla bean ice cream. I'll definitely replace my traditional pie with this one at Thanksgiving.


I've made this recipe twice and neither time has it turned out!
