Wow, this is certainly different from My Grandmothers Corn Pudding. :] There must be as many corn pudding recipes as there are corn pudding eaters.

Wow.. I cooked this tonight. It is amazing how much hard work our elders put into the basics like cooking. It was delicious. But it was also a good deal of work to prepare. I think I would have liked your grandmother.

Your grandmother was a fabulous cook judging from her recipes. You're right, this is true southern. The corn pudding should have been rated a 5 and I gave it that. What I like is she didn't scrimp on the good ingredients, as so many do. These recipes are treasures that should be preserved and shared and I hope you will post more. You have reminded me, I have some oldies that i am going to dig out and share. My wife also has a great old collection. Oldies, but goodies.

I just bought corn at the Amish farmers market here, and I'm making this today. With pork chops and (of course) gravy.

This is amazing. Had it last night. Seriously, I could live on this stuff. I used six ears of corn I bought at the Amish farmers market (very sweet bicolor), and I'd put the bread in the oven when I turned it on to dry it out to make crumbs and forgot about it, so I just used all ritz cracker crumbs. This really is amazing stuff.

Thank you for the great comment on my corn pudding.Grandmother's spirit would soar to hear that! I had 2 certain male cousins that actually verbally fought over the stuff at our family reunions. Grandmother also made the most outrageous yeast rolls and would make her own potato starter when she made her potato bread. I am so pleased that you like her corn pudding it's worth every ounce of effort.
