How to make it

  • Preheat oven to e50'
  • Grease bottom and 1/2" up sides of 9x5" loaf pan. In large bowl,combine flour,baking powder,baking soda and salt;set aside.
  • In large mixing bowl,beat butter and sugar with electric mixer on med. to high speed until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs. Add egg mixture to flour mixture. Stir till just moistened (batter should be lumpy). Stir in apples,cheese,walnuts and sage. Spoon batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake 50-60 mins or till toothpick comes out clean and edges of loaf are lightly browned. Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 mins.
  • Remove from pa. Cool completely on a wire rack. Wrap and store overnight before slicing.

    This smells like Thanksgiving while it`s baking. :) Love the fresh sage in it. I didn`t care for it because of the consistency. It`s like a dessert bread but it`s savoury. My BIL however adored it. Total matter of personal taste. More in IMI11

    This really sounds great, and if this isn't too far fetched, I think I could use this for breakfast. Ala, french toast. Thanks for sharing!!
