How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 Degrees. Grease a baking sheet lightly.
  • In large bowl, cream together margarine and sugars until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Stir in vanilla.
  • In medium bowl stir together flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Add to sugar mixture along with oats and chocolate chips. Stir until well mixed. Add raisins and nuts, mix well. Dough will be crumbly.
  • Drop mounded spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheet. Bake in preheated 350 Degree oven for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool on a rack. The recipe says that these freeze well, but I never have any left over long enough to try.
  • Enjoy!

    I've had heard of these.I want to say that some one in my mom's family or a friend of my mom's had made these when I was a little girl.

    I know these are good. Back in the day, I used nearly identical cookies as our base for Ice cream sandwiches at 10 Beach Drive. They are yummy. Off to check on the oatmeal supply.
