Shrimp And Grits Booya

- 1/2 cups chicken broth shopping list
- 1/2 milk shopping list
- 3/4 cup Dixie Lily grits shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional) shopping list
- 1 cup diced bacon shopping list
- 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled, and deveined shopping list
- 1/2 cup diced green bell peppers shopping list
- 1/2 cup diced red bell peppers shopping list
- 1/2 cup diced onion (white or purple) shopping list
- 2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce, or to taste shopping list
- sliced green onions for garnish shopping list
How to make it
- To prepare grits, bring chicken broth and milk to a boil in a large saucepan. Stir in grits and salt; return to boil. Cover and reduce heat to low. Cook 5 minutes until thickened; stirring occasionally. ( keep warm )
- To prepare shrimp, cook bacon in skillet until crisp; drain all but 2 tablespoons of fat from skillet. Add shrimp, peppers, and onion; cook until vegetables are tender and shrimp turn pink. Season with hot pepper sauce.
- Serve shrimp mixture over warm grits. Garnish with chopped green onions
