Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 325ºF.
  • In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, and garlic powder; rub over surface of roast.
  • In a Dutch oven, heat the oil to hot and brown roast on all sides.
  • Transfer roast to roasting pan.
  • Combine all the remaining ingredients; pour over roast.
  • Cover and roast for 2 1/2-3 hours until tender.
  • Remove and let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Makes great leftovers for sandwiches!

    I made this last night, to take for a few work dinners this week...it was SO EASY and QUICK to the oven! I took some of the sauce, reduced it, and used it as a gravy. Had it tonight for dinner at work tonight...OUTSTANDING! I told my Dad about it, and he said he would buy the next roast, a few more lbs., (I used only a 1.5 lb, and adjusted the cooking time), But I could make it and take some to him. Good deal for me! Thank you for a great recipe.
