This way of roasting the chiken look funny and taste very good, since the beer bubles inside the bird and leave the meat so tasty!!

This sounds rather funny in cooking =)
I'm not familiar with beers but.. mind if I replace beer with white sparkling wine or peach vodka?

We roast chicken in a similar manner but have never used beer which sounds interesting.

I got this recipe from Perdue Farms but of course they respectfully call it "Up Your Butt Chicken", lol. I have used beer, but I prefer cola. Either way the intent is to keep the meat moist and it sure does that. I also use a citrus soda sometimes for a different sort of flavor.

Hi, I'm new here - but always looking for new recepies, especially on the grill. I've done this a couple of times on the BBQ - I love it! Try different kind of beers for different flavors. A honey brown might be good! I think I'll try it tonight!

We do these, they are wonderful, and yes you can use wine, grape juice, orange juice, etc. I do think the bubbles in the beer make it best. I have mixed grape with beer and it was good.

I love the idea, and I've seen special wire racks designed to hold the chook and the can upright...
My only concern would be the paint from the can getting hot and having the flavour (and chemicals) go through the meat.
Might get that chook out of the freezer and give it a shot...

I'm with Dover, the paint might prove an issue. But I'd be more worried about the polymer lining of the can. A bottle might be a better option, however it might go bang... I don't know too many breweries that use Pyrex.

Mon Dieu!!! I am definitely going to bake this beer-in-the-ass chicken recipe! It looks delicious! I have made chicken cooked in beer before but the beer was on the outside while baking. Never have I seen a recipe that basically tells you to take a chicken; take a beer...and **** it! hahaha Merci beaucoup!

Got to agree with all the others, this is the best. We use the grill & oven. The beer makes the meat very moist & delicious. Alaskan Amber is another good beer to use:o)

This method keeps the meat very tender and moist. I'm surprised by the comments above that so many haven't heard of this. I'm NOT putting this recipe down, but there has been a wire rack on the market for years that stabilizes the chicken in the upright position, and has a can holder in the center. The bird gets a wire and can procto and sits proudly on your grill. Not all grill covers are deep enough, however. My favorite flavor is Mountain Dew. I suggest you do do the dew.

I can't believe people all over have been on to beer butt chicken and I am just learning about this recently... I feel like I have been cheated or something. This beer butt chicken recipe rules!

Well, I used an empty soda can and filled with water and added 5 cloves garlic, 1 broken cinnamon stick, 10 white peppercorns, 10 whole cloves, 1 bay leaf and slivers of fresh onion. I also shoved 1/2 lemon in cavity before placing chicken over can. This liquid infused the chicken wonderfully and complemented the indian rub I placed all over chicken.
It was the BOMB!
