Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 375f
  • cook macaroni as package directs.. drain
  • while cooking macaroni, melt butter in medium saucepan
  • Remove from heat
  • Stir in flour, salt, and pepper until smooth
  • Gradually stir in milk
  • Bring to a boil, stirring
  • Reduce heat and simmer 1-2 minutes
  • Stir in 1 1/2 cup cheese and the cooked macaroni.
  • Pour into a 1 1/2 quart shallow casserole dish.
  • Arrange tomato slices over top
  • Sprinkle remaining cheese on top
  • Sprinkle parsley on cheesd
  • Bake about 15 minutes un covered until cheese is golden brown
  • ENJOY

    Sounds wonderful! I often make macaroni and cheese with a can of tomatoes stirred in but this sounds even better with the fresh tomato slices!

    Going to try this tonight. I grew up on the kraft blue box stuff, and I've always thought it to be the best stuff in the world, I hope this changes my taste buds -=)

    Everyone loved the Mac & Cheese, tasty and the way I remember it! Thank so much, I have white pepper on my list! Oh, have to tell you, my grandaughter saw stuff (parsley) sprinkled on top, when I told her what it was, she informed me she didn't like it. I conviced her to try it, she had seconds and told me the top was her favorite part!

    Good recipe, and am like you...I like the spark that white pepper gives to dishes, and I always use more black pepper!
