  • Mix all but the rump roast. Place rump roast in crockpot. Pour the broth mixture over the roast. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.

    I didn't get the prime rib part of this recipe although it was good. I didn't pour the broth over the roast as I wanted to save it for dipping. I put a slice on bread and dipped it in the broth. I'll probably eat the rest of it that way as well. I used a 2.5 bottom round roast and flipped it over halfway through so all of the roast could sit in the broth. Mine cooked for 9.5 hours. I added a picture and a thread in IMI 9/19/20

    Is the can of Swansons beef roast, broth? Or beef stock? A can of beef broth? I'm sorry to be so dense but it puzzled me. I think the anything that can make a tough old roast taste wonderful is great and I'm willing to try. Budget friendly dishes are my friend! Thanks for the post. Sorry, It's early and I'm stupid, I just read the broth part of the recipe. Now it makes sense. I need a cup of coffee.
