This was an experiment that turned out deliciously...
an elegant yet simple grown up version of the classic american grilled cheese. The rye bread gives it a unique twist and works quite well.

This makes me think of the Lawrence Sanders novels where he'd desribe the sandwiches his detective made while working on cases. They always sounded divine and this one surely does, too. (The photo just made my hips grow one size!)
