There's not a lot of grits in So. Calif. so when I travel and get near a Cracker Barrel restaurant, I make sure I go there for breakfast...for their grits with butter, salt and lots of pepper! Bookmarking this one.

Made this for Christmas brunch and substituted quick grits with broth and grit amounts and time adjusted. Out of our group of 14 everyone loved these grits, even the four people who never liked grits before. We roasted our pepper, too. We give it 14 "thumbs up".

Good recipe. I do a similar version, but use cream instead of chicken stock. And if you can find them stone ground grits are great, but never instant grits.

I'll have to try this, I've never done anything but fix grits plain. We like them with butter, sometimes with stewed tomatoes over them, and of course for breakfast with eggs.
