Chicken With Beer And Mushrooms Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 chicken approx. 1 kilo cut in pieces
  • 2 shallots chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic (peeled)
  • 500 gr. mushrooms sliced
  • 2 cups beer
  • 1 tbs mustard
  • 250 gr. milk cream
  • 3 tbs olive oil
  • 1/2 bunch parsley finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp coriander

Directions
  1. In a bowl with cover we put the chicken pieces, beer, mustard and spices.We refrigerate for at least 6 hours, stirring occasionaly so that the meat marinates well.
  2. In a large pan we gently saute the onion and garlic in the olive oil until soft.
  3. Add the strained chicken and saute until golden brown from all sides.
  4. Add the mushrooms and saute for 7-8 more minutes.
  5. Add the marinade liquid and reduce the fire to a slow simmer, cover and simmer for approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  6. When the sauce starts to thicken we add the milk cream and simmer for 5 minutes more.
  7. Serve with the chopped parsley.

I think a lager would be perfect since they are the most common and I have used them a lot
