How to make it

  • Cream butter. Add vanilla and sugar gradually. Beat in eggs and peanut butter,
  • mixing well.
  • Sift flour and baking powder together, then stir into the mixture. Roll into small
  • balls and place on cookie sheet. Flatten with fork that has been dipped in water.
  • (Don’t get the dough too wet, though!)
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 10 - 15 minutes.
  • Yield: 50 peanut buttery cookies!

I tried to bring this excellent Peanut Butter Cookie recipe up to a 5 but it didn't budge much :( I made your recipe 3 days ago and my "grown" children and grandchildren went absolutely "nutty" over them. I have always followed the same recipe for years but this year I thought I'd try a different one. Well, these were a HUGE success. Not that mine weren't good of course but everyone said they prefer this cookie soooooooooooooo, you've made my day, weeks, months, years ;) Thank you for posting an excellent "5" fork PB Cookie recipe!!!

I remember having these cookies in elementary school. They were huge and had crispy edges. That settled it for me - peanut butter cookies are wonderful! I don't make them often because I "can't eat just one"! Yours are just like I make.

It looks like I'm right there with everyone else because I love peanut butter cookies too. I gave you 5 forks but it stayed at 4.8? I don't understand why this recipe isn't 5 forks all the way. In my opinion, you can't beat peanut butter cookies ;)
