This dish is a definitely NOT for dieters, calorie counters of those who freak out about chloresterol! Great flavor, one pot meal that really satisfies. A favorite at my house!

Added a few red pepper flakes for an extra kick. Also some unsalted butter to add a little extra flavor. Keep water handy and stir often to keep the rice from sticking.

Okay, I've found what I'm making for dinner tonight. I've got today off and it's cold, nasty and icy. This sounds wonderful. Thank's Mike.

Oh my!!! This is my new favorite dish! I made a pot of this tonight for dinner and it is to die for. The bacon grease really makes this dish.
I halved the recipe and still ended up with way more than I could ever eat so my neighbors will be lovin me...
Thanks for posting! Loved it!
