Crab Wontons

- 1 lb. snow crab legs shopping list
- 1 pack wonton wrappers shopping list
- 1 cup mozarella cheeze (grated) shopping list
- 3/4 green bell pepper (diced) shopping list
- 1/2 yellow onion (diced) shopping list
- 1 egg (scrambled) shopping list
- cajun crab boil shopping list
- 3 tbsp. unsalted butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup vineger shopping list
- 1 tbsp. corn starch shopping list
- 1 tbsp. ketchup shopping list
- 1 tsp. crushed red pepper shopping list
- 3-4 cloves garlic (minced) shopping list
- vegetable oil for deep frying shopping list
- salt and pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Boil water in a large stock pot
- mix in cajun crab boil (read instructions on package)
- Boil frozen crab legs 5 min
- remove from heat and let stand 20 minutes.
- while it stands, heat cast iron skillet to medium
- saute onions, peppers in skillet until onions are transparent
- add 1/2 of the garlic, cokk for 5 more minutes, then remove from heat.
- let the mix cool.
- strain crab legs and remove meat when cool enough to handle
- shread the meat with your hands
- add cooled onion/pepper mix to crab meat, and mix with hands
- add cheeze, and mix more
- lay out wonton wrappers on sheet and spoon tbsp of mix into middle of wonton wrapper
- brush beaten eggs lightly on perimiter edges of wonton wrapper for your "glue"
- press corners of wrapper up and pinch together
- make sure to leave outer corners unpinched to let air out later
- Heat vegetable oil to 400 degrees
- set wonton aside and let's make the thai sauce
- THAI SAUCE...
- boil sugar add water in small pot
- add vineger, ketchup, corn starch, the rest of the garlic, and red pepper and mix well.
- let sauce cool, then serve on side of wontons
- fry wontons until light brown and let let strain 1 minute before serving
- Enjoy!
