Authentic Spanish Rice made the way it should be made!! Red and not saucy!!

Ingredients
  • 2 cups long grain white rice
  • 1 tbsp bacon grease
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 3-1/2 cups chicken broth/stock
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt...less if using broth or bouillion
  • 1/2 tsp cilantro

Directions
  1. Melt bacon grease in med saucepan with tight fitting lid.
  2. fry rice in grease until it turns orange in color stir frequently, don't burn it.
  3. Stir in all other ingredients, be careful, it might splatter, and bring to boil
  4. lower heat to simmer and cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. after time is up, turn off heat, and leave it covered until serving
  6. stir up with fork before serving with Tacos, Fajitas, flautas, Burritos or any Spanish/Mexican entree!!
