Ingredients

How to make it

  • Follow package directions for boiling pierogies.
  • Melt butter in a large, wide non-stick frying pan over medium-low heat.
  • Add onion and minced garlic.
  • Saute until softened.
  • Add mushrooms and saute until lightly browned.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Finely grate approximately 1 Tbsp. lemon zest into a bowl.
  • Add 2 Tbsp. lemon juice.
  • Stir in yogurt, sour cream / creme fresh and dill.
  • When pierogies are cooked, drain well.
  • Add to mushroom mixture in pan along with yogurt and sour cream mixture.
  • Stir gently over medium heat until pierogies are evenly covered,
  • Serves 4 to 6

    My grandma and my mom once a year get together and make pierogie. I never heard of this recipe. It sound so good. Can't wait to try it.
