Un-petroleum Jelly Recipe

Ingredients

1 ounce (weight) beeswax

1/2 cup any oil. (I use olive because I always have it on hand but you can use sweet almond, avacado etc.)

Directions

Melt the beeswax in a microwave or a double boiler. Stir in the oil. Remove the mixture from the heat and stir until cool.

This is excellent, I've been trying to post a topic under my group Natural Recipes, and inside it I mention that petroleum based products are made from a nonrenewable resource. Also along with mineral oil, it's bad for your skin anyway and a man made product.

I've gotten so into making my own things. I'm allergic to a lot of dyes and fragrances that they put in commerical products that as I got oldered I started learning how to make my own. Plus most of the stuff I use is organic so it's even better!

You can also use candelilla wax in place of the beeswax for a vegan product. I am now experimenting with the amount, as I believe candelilla wax is harder than beeswax so you may have to use less.
