Remember how you said we had been 'connecting' lately, well you will not believe I was just coming on here to post a Masala Chai recipe that I happened to find in a magazine I'm reading called herbcompanion, it's almost the same exact one as this. It's says here that in India, every family has it's own recipe and people tend to adjust it to their own personal taste. In this recipe the only 'major' difference is they shell the cardamom seed pods, then grind with the cinnamon stick and cloves (which makes the ground masala)

I like chai, and so do you. Wait ... that was supposed to rhyme.
As soon as I saw this, I had thoughts of how great it would be to pre-mix a bunch of dry ingredients and do the instant gratification thing two spoons at a time each evening. It might be worth a little research with all dry ingredients ... I mean ... for someone else to do all the work, not me. LOL
Thanks for the great post. I'm printing it!!

I've recently started to drink a commercial chai tea, a few times a day, but reading your ingredients, I believe that your version would taste much better. Well, at least quite different and I'll confirm that shortly. As I have all the ingredients that I need, I reckoned that I should try it now before hitting the sack. Cheers!

I have made a batch of your tea and it smells and tastes a heap better. I reckon that the fresh ginger has a bit to do with that. I think also, that the commercial type maybe lacking a little generosity with ingredients. Possibly, the invisible chef has it right, as there may be many different versions. However, I do really like this. Although, I do have to admit, that I usually don't have milk in normal tea. So, since I've been drinking Chai tea, I have followed through with that same logic. Maybe I should try it with milk later. Thanks for the recipe, it'll be nice to be able to make my own chai teas.

I love chai tea and I also have only used the store bought instant type...this sounds like it would have a much more intense flavor! Great recipe Wynne!
