Ingredients
  • 500g Klim Milk Powder{ /other fullcream milk powder}
  • 90g butter
  • 155g tin {Nestle} cream
  • 25 ml sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups icing sugar
  • 1cup water
  • 5ml crushed cardamom
  • 5ml fine cardamom
  • 125ml freshly blanched and ground almonds

Directions
  1. Mx powdered milk and cream well together ,so that the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.Rest mix overnight or for at least 5 hours
  2. Put small amounts in a coffee grinder and process for about 40-60 sec
  3. process until all mixture has been processed
  4. put in a dish --add 2 types of cardamom and grounded almonds to mix
  5. In a large enamel or waterless pot mix mix the 25 ml sugar and water ,and dissolve
  6. Put on heat and add butter ,and when sugar and butter is well dissolved {after about 2 mins of boiling time} add the icing sugar and rose essence {if,using}till sugars are well dissolved {takes about 3-4 mins
  7. Switch off heat and quickly add the milk / almond mix .mix well vigorously with spoon till mixture is well mixed together {look like a thick cake batter }
  8. Remove mix from stove and allow to cool in pot
  9. cover pot with lid and allow to rest for 12-15 hrs
  10. Beat burfee in bowl of cake mixer for a few mins ,it will now be light and creamy ,but firm enough to form into blocks or scoop with an ice cream scoop into rounds
  11. decorate with coloured almonds
  12. I promise it is well worth trying-----i know when i see the joy on my families faces :} :} :} :}

Oh wow! This sounds like a very decadent and luxurious marzipan which you know I love :) But one question dear, when you put aside the cream and milk powder mixture overnight, would that be in the fridge or outside and the same question for when you have to leave it aside for 12 - 15 hours after cooking - in the fridge or outside?
