How to make it

  • Heat oven to 350*
  • Grease and flour a 10" tube pan (set aside)
  • In large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar well, until very light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. In another bowl, mix flour, soda and salt.
  • Combine sour cream and peaches in separate bowl.
  • Alternately, add flour and peach mixtures to creamed butter sugar blend, beginning and ending with flour.
  • Beat well after each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla and almond extracts.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake 75 to 80 minutes or until cake tests done
  • Cool slightly and remove from pan
  • Icing:
  • Boil all ingredients in a saucepan for 4 minutes. Punch holes in cake with a fork. Spoon frosting over cake

    This turned out wonderfully. I've never seen such a good looking batter while making a cake before. I posted my pic but it turned out too dark (I was really busy that weekend and didn't think to open the shutters for better lighting). I think the cake would be good without the icing too. Thanks!

    Could I just make this in a bundt cake pan and would the baking time be the same? This recipe sounds wonderful - nice for summer. My parents are having a party and this will be beautiful!! Thanks! ~Dawn
