Orange Butterscotch Cheesecake

- *****CRUST***** shopping list
- 1 1/4 cups old fashioned or quick oats, uncooked shopping list
- 1/4 cup margarine, melted shopping list
- 1/4 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons flour shopping list
- *******FILLING******* shopping list
- 3 8-oz packages cream cheese, softened shopping list
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 2 teaspoons grated orange peel shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- ********TOPPING******** shopping list
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1/3 cup light corn syrup shopping list
- 1/4 cup margarine, melted shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- ****CRUST****
- Combine oats, margarine, brown sugar and flour; press onto bottom of 9-inch springform pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees F , for 15 minutes
- *****FILLING*****
- Combine cream cheese, granulated sugar, orange peel & vanilla.
- Mix at medium speed on electric mixer until well blended
- Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Pour over crust
- Bake at 325 degrees F for 1 hour and 5 minutes
- Loosen cake from rim of pan
- Cool before removing rim of pan
- CHILL
- *******TOPPING*******
- Combine brown sugar, corn syrup and margarine in saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat; stir in vanilla
- chill until slightly thickened.
- Spoon over cheesecake
- Garnish with orange slice and a sprig of fresh mint, if desired
