These are the BEST oatmeal cookies I've ever had. They are incredibly chocolatey, soft and chewy. They are almost as good as brownies! Betty Crocker's Best Of Baking.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Margarine or Butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 2/3 cups Quick-Cooking or Old-Fashioned Oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix sugar, margarine or butter, milk and eggs in a large bowl.
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  4. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2-inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until almost no indentation remains when touched in center.
  6. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet.
