Ingredients

How to make it

  • Slice tomatoes and set aside.
  • Heat oil to fry
  • Combine bread crumbs, cheeses, 1/3 cup parsley, salt, pepper, dressing mix
  • Pour mixture into a shallow plate
  • Dip tomato into Wondra, egg, then breading mixture
  • Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes each side
  • Drain on paper towels.
  • Garnish with parsley

    Wow, that IS a nice picture...I've never tried frying ripe tomatoes either, but I will now - that breading sounds great, wynne!! Now if ripe tomato season would only get here (guess we have to wait for the snow to stop first...).     I just made these and they were very good! I made these exactly as written except I used 4 slicing tomatoes instead of 6 roma tomatoes. The breading fried up nice and crispy! It only took 1 minute on each side, with medium heat. I drizzled them with my homemade Italian dressing. I highly recommend doing this because it adds another dimension of flavor! I think I'll use this breading to fry other foods because it has such a good crunch to it! I included a photo!:)

    HMMMMMMM I've had fried half-green tomatoes but not ripe one. The ingredients sound interesting.
    I think I might be able to find a couple of extra tomatoes for this!
