Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 375 * F
  • Place Tilapia fillets in greased 9x13 (or whatever works for you)
  • Spread ranch dressing on each one - as thin or thick as you like
  • Sprinkle with bacon bits as much as you like
  • Sprinkle with onion . . . "
  • Top with the cheese ( I wait until last 5 minutes of cooking - but you choose when)
  • Bake in oven for 15 - 20 minutes max - Don't want them dry
  • You can use them frozen and cook 30 mins at 375* and it works just as well.

This is a very easy recipe and was really good. It's convenient that you can fix it with ingredients you can keep on hand. It worked fine with frozen tilapia, so I didn't have to plan ahead -- just get it ready and put it in the oven.

Made this tonight for dinner and it was easy and delicious! So many variations you could do as well! I stuck to the recipe though...delicious, but next time will try different cheeses and onion to change it up a bit! Also don't be afraid to be generous with the ranch...I thought it might be overpowering and didn't use a whole lot...but the flavor was subtle and next time I will use a lot more. Thanks for the recipe Justjakesmom! Added this into the IMI ------> Moist Baked Tilapia

Oh yeah. This sounds good. I love to experiment with my tilapia fillets. I buy them individually frozen, too. It is easy to pull one out when I am feeling creative. I didn't realize you could cook them from frozen.....

Made this tonight, but did it a little different. Used Mayo instead of Ranch, seasoned with dill, old bay, and some tarragon. Used green onions. Took a picture of it before adding cheese, but I only made it for two tonight.
    P.S. picture is before baking
