According to Wikipedia, there are a few different versions of this dish depending on where you come from. In Ireland it's Colcannon, Rumbledethumps in Scotland, Bubble and Squeak in Britain, and Stamppot in The Netherlands. Hubby and I have always wanted to try this and now we have a good recipe. Thanks for posting. Betty

an old irish fav. I knew an old woman from Ireland who made this with sausages on the side. Yummy memories!

sounds fabulous, got my 5 I'm going to try this very very soon, thank you for sharing.. I make a dish using the same list of ingredients but instead of boiling the potatoes I fry them in butter with the raw cabbage and raw onion until everything is tender, my family just loves it. I think it is called Bubble and Squeak the way I make it.

These are so blasted good! I've made them for years - by the name of rumbledethumps. Great name, huh? Try these...you'll like 'em.
