Ingredients

How to make it

  • With mixer, or by hand, mix together flour, 1 cup brown sugar and ½ cup softened butter until well blended.
  • Press mixture into bottom of 9x13 pan; sprinkle with cashews.
  • Heat the additional 11 tablespoons butter and ½ cup brown sugar in saucepan, cooking until sugar dissolves.
  • Bring mixture to a gentle boil and continue to simmer gently for 1 minute, stirring constantly (you don't want to boil it too hard or it will become too stiff when cooled).
  • Immediately pour over the crust and cashews.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Cool completely before cutting into bars.
