Ingredients

How to make it

  • Season meat with salt and pepper
  • Place in slow cooker sprayed with no stick spray.
  • Pour over liquid smoke.
  • Cook on low until meat is done, depending on type of meat and size, this should take 4-6 hours.
  • Shred or pull apart meat and serve in a variety of ways. As is on hard rolls, with BBQ sauce if you've smoked ribs, add chicken or turkey to rice, burritos, etc., or use to make a cold smoky chicken salad. See Photo
  • *also, the liquid produced is a nice smoky stock for soups or to use in place of water for cooking rice.

I finally tried this on a bigger piece of salmon. I had a 1 pound filet and I cooked it on high for 3.5 hours and it came out perfectly. The smokey taste was all through the salmon - clear to the skin. I added a picture. Thanks, Keni!

So easy! I added some carrots and wish I had done some potatoes but was skeptical on the amount of juice I would get from this and didn't want everything to burn. Plenty of juice though in the end! This is so good and can't wait to make again! Check Mr P's long thread for more!

I tried this on a piece of salmon tonight and I am pleased to say it turned out great! I had a six ounce fillet, put it in the pot skin side down and sprinkled 1/4 tsp of liquid smoke on it. I cooked it on high for 1.5 hours. It had a wonderful but subtle smokey flavor! Thanks, Keni! Added a picture, too. A bit more in MrP's IMI thread.
