Spicy White Lasagna Recipe
Got this from Paula Dean, and it was a hit in the neighborhood, Even my husband liked it, It's a different lasagna with a Mexican twist, Try it and you won't be sorry

Ingredients
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb pork sausage. crumbled
  • 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-1/2" pieces
  • 1 tbsp Chili Seasoning
  • 1 chopped medium onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 (16 oz) jars of garlic Alfredo sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Asiago Cheese
  • 1 (15 oz) container ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp dried basil
  • 1 (9 oz) bag fresh spinach
  • 1-2 cans drained, canned mushrooms
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt & Pepper

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Lightly grease a 13 x 9 baking dish
  3. Cook noodles according to package, drain
  4. In large skillet, combine sausage and cook over medium high heat until lightly pink
  5. Add chicken and continue cooking till no longer pink
  6. Remove meat from skillet, leaving as much grease in pan as possible
  7. Add onion & garlic to skillet, cook for 5 minutes or till tender
  8. Remove pan from heat
  9. Stir meat back in and add Chili Powder
  10. Stir in ONE jar of alfredo sauce, chicken both and Asiago Cheese
  11. In medium bowl, combine ricotta, egg & basil.
  12. Spread a thin layer over bottom of prepared pan
  13. Top with half of remaining jar of Alfredo sauce
  14. Arrange 4 noodles over sauce
  15. Spread 1/3 of meat mixture over noodles
  16. Arrange half of spinach & mushrooms over meat mixture
  17. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup mozzerella cheese & dot with 1/2 of ricotta mixture
  18. Repeat procedure with remaining ricotta mixture,alfredo sauce, noodles, meat mixture, spinach & mushrooms & mozzerella
  19. Bake 45 minutes or until hot and bubbly
  20. Let stand 10 minutes before serving
  21. Tip: I used more of ricotta & mozzerella, our family likes CHEESE

I am loving this...and will probably add more cheese, as well, because how can you hurt a beautiful lasagna like this one by adding more cheese? Awesome post!


Oh I can't wait to try this!!! It looks soooooo yummy... to bad this baby I'm carrying doesn't like chicken... guess I'll have to wait :(

This is certainly a "must try." I'll make a vegetarian verasion, but this sounds very adaptable. (More cheese?? Good grief--my arteries are probably in enough trouble!!) Thanks for the recipe!


This will be great to feed my kids(twin 22 year old construction workers). That way I can have some without any left overs . Cuz I would eat that too. L.


I have tried this recipe, ( I get Paulas recipes in email) This is fantastic and it's easy, cheesey and it was enough for us to have for supper and lunch the next day.
