- Aprx 30 jumbo shells, cooked shopping list
- Sauce: shopping list
- 6 Tbsp butter shopping list
- 6 Tbsp flour shopping list
- 4 cups milk shopping list
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley ( Italian is best ) shopping list
- salt and white pepper, to taste shopping list
- Filling: shopping list
- 1/2 lb. cooked shrimp ( or combination of shrimp and crabmeat) chopped shopping list
- 2 cups ricotta cheese shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups grated mozzarella cheese shopping list
- 2 eggs, beaten shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt and dash pepper shopping list
How to make it
- For Bechamel Sauce:
- Melt butter in saucepan over med. heat. Blend in flour. Cook stirring constantly until smooth and bubbly. remove from heat to stir in milk
- ( Shine says to heat milk first for better sauce)
- Return to heat and heat to boiling stirring constantly ( this part takes awhile) When boiling continue cooking for 1 minute while stirring. Remove from heat and add salt ,pepper, and parsley. Stir.
- For Shells:
- in large bowl combine remaining ingredients, and fill cooked shells. Spread about 1 1/2 c sauce on bottom of 9x13 " pan, and arrange filled shells in single layer on top . Pour remaining sauce over the shells and bake at 375 for about 20 minutes or until sauce bubbles.
- I would probably add some grated Parmesan on top before baking. just a personal preference and it would get nice and golden I think. Hope you like it.
