Ingredients

How to make it

  • For Bechamel Sauce:
  • Melt butter in saucepan over med. heat. Blend in flour. Cook stirring constantly until smooth and bubbly. remove from heat to stir in milk
  • ( Shine says to heat milk first for better sauce)
  • Return to heat and heat to boiling stirring constantly ( this part takes awhile) When boiling continue cooking for 1 minute while stirring. Remove from heat and add salt ,pepper, and parsley. Stir.
  • For Shells:
  • in large bowl combine remaining ingredients, and fill cooked shells. Spread about 1 1/2 c sauce on bottom of 9x13 " pan, and arrange filled shells in single layer on top . Pour remaining sauce over the shells and bake at 375 for about 20 minutes or until sauce bubbles.
  • I would probably add some grated Parmesan on top before baking. just a personal preference and it would get nice and golden I think. Hope you like it.

What a wonderful neighbor (back in the day when neighbors did such nice things like this - kinda miss that, living in 'the big city'...). I'm so glad you found the recipe, because this is one of those "mmmmmmmmmm...gotta make it!!" recipes. Thanks, RR!
