The sourdough starter gives the pancakes a taste a little zingier than buttermilk

Ingredients
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 cup Herman Sourdough Starter*
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk

Directions
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the dry ingredients. Add the wet ingredients; beat well.
  2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat. Pour a 1/4 cup measure for each pancake onto the griddle. Brown on both sides and serve hot with lots of butter and syrup.
