Ingredients

How to make it

  • Mix all dry ground spices, mint and tea together and place in French press.
  • Boil water and pour into French press and stir.
  • Allow to steep at least 10 minutes stirring occasionally (the longer it steeps, the spicier it gets).
  • Press down to filter ingredients from tea.
  • Pour into teacup - reheating if necessary in microwave.
  • Add honey and milk to taste.
  • (ALTERENATE:Combine first 8 ingredients - can be stored for some time this way - placing one cup's worth in a reusable tea bag with black tea and several mint leaves. Steep as normal and add honey and milk as before.)
Dry mix.   Close

I like this hot in the winter and iced in the summer. I go to the Indian market and buy masala (spice mix) already in a jar so I don't have to mix my own. Thanks

I never thought of mint in my chai! My mother is a snob about how REAL chai (from India/East Africa) doesn't have all those spices they put in it nowadays. I'll definitely keep this a secret!

Do you think this would still work if I only used 34.5 oz of water?
