Kuchen must vary from region to region and family to family! My great Oma made a sweet loaf in a cake pan with lots of melted butter and a thick crust of cinnamon sugar on top before baking. She made about 6 loaves every Saturday so we had it for Sunday after we got to her house after church. I think though, that I will be trying this recipe this weekend! I may toss a few peaches or lemon zest in!

Thanks for this recipe! The sour cream filling sounds delicious! I can't wait to try out your recipe. Do you by any chance have a recipe for a Cheese Kuchen? I'd love to see it posted if you have one. And thanks for the story about your son! That was too funny!

This looks fantastic! I love Kuchen of any kind. I know there's no such thing as a dumb question, but here goes anyway. In the filling section you have 4T of flour listed. Do you mix that with the fruit, or with the sour cream, sugar, and eggs? I am saving this to print off when I have your answer. So yummy. Thanks for the post.

That looks absolutely mouth-watering good...love a creamy, sweet, fruity kuchen, and the berry combination would be so perfect for this - just in time for all the blueberries and raspberries that are in season here right now...thanks for sharing your grandma's recipe!

This sounds great -- my ancestor's kuchen had a yeast dough base and a cottage cheese (like the consistency of quark) filling with fruit. I must put the recipe on, if I haven't already done so. Much more work than this though, but it would have a different taste. Must try this. Thanks!
