Wow I just showed this to my 12 year old son who by the way really loves pie and I think he has gone into shock. I mean really. If you eat one of these that better be all your eating for the day. We really love this and will try it soon. Thanks Lana. MJ

Folks..we USED to fix a LOT of fruit pies in the
South and on farms all over, but this is somewhat
RARE now, as they are so calorie laden..they are fabulous too..we Americans don't WORK or PLAY hard enough anymore to eat things THIS calorie condensed..except....
ocaccionally!! :()

I was raised on these and I loved them! Mine always taste great but they are never as pretty as yours.

They look so delicous and recipe seems easy enough,
1 questions: can you use fresh apples instead of dried?

Janet

Hi Janet..Re: country fried pies/tarts
ABSOLUTELY on the fruit pies..fresh fruit or most ANY fruit..
(apple, blueberry, blackberry, cherry, etc.,) no prob as long as
the texture is right and sealed real well on edges.) :)

Oh my, when I looked at the picture I could almost taste them. I just have to try these pretty soon. 5555555

We have made them with chocolate and lemon
filling.. (can be) a bit tricky, but very
do-able.
