Holupky  Casserole Recipe
This is an easy way to have Holupky any time, Great, affordable, hearty meal made even better when served with a nice crusty bread.

Ingredients
  • 1 small head cabbage
  • 1lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 small green pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic (can be left whole, crushed or minced, however you like your garlic)
  • 1/2 cup uncooked rice
  • 3 (15oz) cans tomatoe sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions
  1. Pre cook 1/2 cup rice ( do not need to cook thoroughly)
  2. Brown ground beef , onion and green pepper in large skillet.
  3. Chop cabbage in 1 inch squares and place in the bottom of a large baking dish.
  4. Mix cooked rice, tomatoe sauce into cooked beef mixture and bring to a boil.
  5. Pour mixture over the tope of cabbage.
  6. Cover and bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours.
  7. Mix contents together when baking is complete.

This sounds a lot like my cabbage rolls WITHOUT all the work of boiling and filling and wrapping - this will be a MUST TRY!
