These make soured milk. It is not buttermilk.
The yogurt recipe might work if it has live culture but the ratio is all wrong. You're just making diluted yogurt.

Thank you. I often find I need buttermilk for certain recipes but seldom have it on hand when I need it. This is great!

    Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, how I LOVE buttermilk.
I drink it, and cook with it.

One of the first jobs I had as a teenager was washing dishes, pots and pans, etc. in a summer theme park. It was HOT work. I used to buy a quart of buttermilk at a time and drink it as I worked to help me through the day. That was when you could get the REAL stuff---- this recipe sounds good, and a must-try! Thanks, and HIGH FIVE! :+D

I have used the lemon recipe but not for buttermilk.
I gathered the whey added some salt and pressed it into a small ramekin and served it as a cheese.
