Oh, yum! I haven't had one of these in ages. Overdue for one, I guess! lol

I remember the first time I drank one of these, but that is about all I remember about that night. :o)
~Gem~

It's been years since i had this drink. This is a good weekend to make a few. Thanks

You left out the tequila. Might as well throw it in. LIIT is everything white on the bar. Drink one, don't drive. This drink has the same potency as five regular drinks and one can get you soused. Gem said it. One and she didn't remember. I was tending bar in the restaurant one night when an older dude who was impressed with himself comes in with a well-developed young lady. He tossed a hundred on the bar and tells me to get the lady something light like a Long Island Iced Tea and goes to the restroom. Out of earshot, she said she didn't want to get drunk, pass out and find herself in his bed the next day. He suggested the LIIT to her. I switched her to a wine spritzer and I guess I ruined his night. Keep the asprin handy and hide the car keys from yourself. From the posted comments it sounds like some friends are going to have a heck of a weekend.

I am enjoying your sharing of drink recipes I have a steady flow of visitors in the summer and am not a drinker and need inspiration like this one
Thanks..

Wow this one takes me back to younger days of foolishness! May have to throw one together for a stumble down memory lane.

Never taste the alcohol? That could be dangerous, but tasty!! :)

I hear these have the same effect as a baseball bat. Is that true?
I've not tried it. I'll have to pitch one together and give it a swing ... or swig.
Good post, thanks.

I haven't had a Long Island Iced Tea in such a long time. I think the last ones caused me to have amnesia...for several days - ha! These babies are mighty powerful and require being around folk you trust (..and/or..."like") and no driving allowed. Thanks for the recipe. Maybe I'll trot this out *carefully* in the near future. =)
