The only photo I have of a dear elementary school friend is where she is teaching me how to make tortillas. So I'm glad to see your recipe. It's similar but the method was a little different.

Letting the dough relax will give you the best results when making anything out of dough.

I am so pleased that you submitted this recipe. A dear friend of mine who moved back to Mexico always made them. In my opinion, homemade tortillas are the best and so much better than store bought. High "5" for this winner!

Figured, hey might as well try the tortillas since im doing the taco filling. I gotta hand it to you...those are hard to get round..but with every one it got easier. And for anyone scared of the lard...just to let you know...the nutrition lable is hardly any different from shortening so u might as well go for it. With that all being said these were wonderful...theres nothing like fresh tortillas!
P.S. Any tips on how to keep its shape while transfering from countertop to pan. Thats where it kept losing its shape. Thanks!

I use a tortilla press that cooks it when you press it. Is that cheating? Anyway, the recipe is great!

Thanks for the recipe. My grandma tried to teach me and I can never get them round! It drives me crazy. You are right about homemade tortillas though. I refuse to eat the store bought kind. It is homemade or nothing for me!

This recipe was easy to make and the result is TASTY (if a little misshapen; it's gonna take me some practice to get them round). Thanks for sharing!

Oh my goodness! What a great way to do something different and not made on a conveyor belt! I am sending these straight to the saves---then I will fill them with the homemade chicken taco filling. Yes, thanks! --Kn0x--

Thanks so much for this recipe. I've quit buying tortillas at the store. My family loves them. I quit trying to make them round. I'd get them round and then they would contort when I transferred them to the pan. Now I just roll them as thin as I can get them and we play guess what the tortilla is :))
