How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease an 8-inch square pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, oats, flour and butter. Mix until crumbly. Place half of crumb mixture in pan. Spread the apples evenly over crumb mixture. Mix sugar and cinnamon together, then sprinkle over the apples. Top with remaining crumb mixture. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool and serve with vanilla ice cream.

    This recipe is the reason I'm a foodie now. My 15 yr. old daughter was searching for a recipe online, as we so often do. She made this recipe (and added banana with the apples)THEN, she signed me up. I can hardly stop looking at everybody's recipes. I want to try so many! Thanks!

    This is almost exactly the same as my recipe, except mine is all brown sugar.

    Classic great recipe. You can do this with peaches, cherries, blackberries, blueberries, etc. Our blueberry bushes are loaded and this is on the menu today. Tasty!
