This is a recipe I got from my Sicilian mother in law, who refered to them as the greek cookies, I don't know why but knowing my mother in law a greek person probably gave her the recipe. But they are a favorite. Picture Marie from Everyone Loves Ra... More

Ingredients
- 1 lb butter
- 2 tbsp Crisco (shortening)
- 1 cup of Sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 6 cups of flour
- 3 tsp of vanilla
- 1/2 cup of walnuts chopped fine (or put through the food processer)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (confectionary)
- brown paper bag
Directions
- Cream together the first three ingredients
- add egg
- mix in the remaining ingredients except the powedered sugar
- shape into balls
- bake at 375 for 15-18 minutes
- allow cookies to cool about 5 minutes
- fill brown bag with the powdered suger
- gently shake cookies in bag to coat with suger
- EAT!!

These are called *KOURAMBIEDES* in Greek. They were traditionally served at weddings but now show up at every holiday table! Thanks for sharing! But where are the photos you mention? :)
