Caribbean Burgers

- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef, chuck or turkey shopping list
- 4- teaspoons dry jerk seasonings (see my recipes )http://www.grouprecipes.com/83563 shopping list
- 2- tablespoons ketchup shopping list
- 2- tablespoons honey-ginger dipping sauce shopping list
- 2- tablespoons vegetable oil shopping list
- 4 hamburger buns shopping list
- 4 slices cheddar cheese shopping list
- 4- slices cored fresh pineapple shopping list
- ******************************** shopping list
- Honey- ginger Dipping sauce shopping list
- 1- 8 ounce can sweetened tamarind nectar shopping list
- 1- tablespoon honey shopping list
- 2- 3 inches fresh ginger peeled and grated shopping list
- 1- tablespoon soy sauce shopping list
- 1- tablespoon dry jerk seasoning shopping list
- 1- teaspoon cornstarch shopping list
- 1- teaspoon water shopping list
- in a small saucepan combine the tamarind nectar and honey shopping list
- bring to a boil and cook until reduced by 1/3 shopping list
- stir in the ginger, soy sauce, dry jerk seasonng shopping list
- mix the cornstarch with the water to form a paste then stir into the tamarind mixture shopping list
- cook stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens 1-2 minutes shopping list
- serve hot or at room temperature shopping list
- store unused sauce in tightly sealed glass jar in the refrigerator use within 30 days ............. shopping list
How to make it
- Light a medium fire in a charcoal grill , or preheat a gas grill to 350 degrees f or heat a lrage skillet over medium- high heat
- season the beef with the dry jerk seasoning and mix well
- form into 4 equal patties
- in a small bowl, combine the ketchup and dipping sauce
- oil the grills grids or heat oil in the pan over medium high heat
- add the patties to the grill or pan and cook unitl browned , about 3-4 minutes each side if you are using a grill , grill the pineapple slices for about 1 minute per side
- lightly toast the buns
- to serve place the meat patties on the buns and top each with 1 slice of cheese and 1 slice of grilled pineapple
- dress with ketchup mixture and dipping sauce and whatever else you want on it
- serve at once
- serve 4
