- 1 pork but 8-10 lbs shopping list
- for rub shopping list
- 1 C. paprika shopping list
- 2T salt shopping list
- 1/4 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1T garlic powder shopping list
- 1T onion powder shopping list
- 1 T chili powder shopping list
- 1t dried mustard shopping list
- 2t cumin shopping list
- 1/2 t or more cayene shopping list
- course black pepper shopping list
- 1 /2 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- pinch of nutmeg shopping list
- 1 meat injector shopping list
- for the injection shopping list
- 1 cup cider vinegar shopping list
- 1/2 cup hot sauce shopping list
- 1/2 stick of butter shopping list
- 1/4 cup brown sugar shopping list
- black pepper shopping list
- if you plan on roasting this in the oven add shopping list
- 1 -2 t liquid smoke shopping list
How to make it
- heat injector ingredients in a sauce pan till sugar melts
- mix all rub ingredients in a bowl
- inject the but with the sauce in several different spots
- rub your butt with the spices.
- now if you are useing a smoker have it heated to 225-250 degrees
- if using an oven prehear to 225
- let butt sit for 2 hours
- if using the smoker smoke for 10 hours replenishing you fire as needed
- if using the oven put in roaster and let go for 10-12 hours
- make a mop of half cider vinegar,half water with a little garlic and black pepper in a spray bottle
- spray butt every hour or so to keep it moist
- when butt reaches 185 degrees on an instant read thermometer remove from heat wrap in in foil and let sit for at least an hour
- then pull away and serve I like to serve with a good hard roll
- have different sauces on the side so your guest can choose and of course pickles and coleslaw.
- I know it seems like a lot of effort but believe me it is worth every minute of it.

Sure glad you decided to share this... It sounds mouth watering good. I would normally use a smoker but way too cold for that. Looks like the oven because I am not waiting until smoking weather to try this.... May even try it for Super Bowl..;-)~ ...more
