COOKINGIRLLJ at allrecipes says that her"method of topping the tuna salad with cheese FIRST, then tomato and more cheese, keeps the toppings from sliding off the bread". I have not tested this theory but it sounds as though it would work!

These look so beautiful! I love tuna melts! 5 forks and a beauty flag!

This looks great and the taste combination of rye, tuna and the red wine vinegar sounds breathtaking! Mmmmmmm is all I can say.

Thank you again and again, my friend! You do go very easy on me, julia. Thank you for your five.

I had never heard of using vinegar with a tuna salad but I am willing to try anything once. Tuna on rye has always been a favorite of mine. Thanks for you five, doll!

Yummy picture. I wish I could just reach in and grab one. I will be making these for sure. Thanks for a 5 forker. MJ

I have tried this and it's Superb!

My daughter would love this! great post!

Not tried these with a slice of tomato. Will next time though. I also like the idea of using a slice of rye under them. Wow, the more I look at these, the hungrier I get...

Thanks.

This is my kind of sandwich! High 5!

I make these occasionally. With garden tomatoes they are supurb.

Just made this with a couple of tweaks - delicious! Used sesame kaiser rolls, buttered lightly before toasting for a minute, used the new Olive Oil Mayo in place of the standard mayo (delish!) and after removing halves from oven, topped with a handful of the bagged tricolor coleslaw mix for some extra texture and nutrition. Mmmmmm....
