Thanks for the good comments krumkake. Glad you enjoyed them. I have not made them for about a year now. I need to get back into this group again. I will try!
My new cookies for this year were Springerle. Yum! I also learned how to use paddles and make butter balls. That was fun, too

Very nice recipe! Very nice photos KrumKake! If I ever see an aebleskiver pan at the flea market... I love hand-me-down recipes.

Chris, made these this morning - so much fun and we really enjoyed them...little puffy bites of heaven! I hadn't made them in probably 20 years - had to dust off that old aebleskiver iron! The only thing I added was 2 tablespoons sugar, since my grandmother always added that to her batter. They were delicious, and now that I've been reminded of them, will definitely be making them more often. This recipe yielded 6 batches of 7 aebleskivers. Thank you so much for this post, and reminding me of a great "old" family recipe!
PS - Sorry for the duplication of the first 4 pictures...not sure why that happened...since it's not my recipe, I can't edit pictures, but you should be able to see that feature - just go in to the edit function and delete the duplicates. Wish I knew what caused that!!

I agree with almost all of the above.. I know what an aebleskiver pan is but don't own one. Is there another way to cook these? Regardless, you have my thanks and my five, chris!

Oh Chris, you are the BEST! Thank you so much for posting your grandmother's recipe - this will push me to dig out and dust off my aebleskiver pan and make a batch. We have a snow storm headed our way tonight...good weekend to stay inside and eat some aebleskivers, I think! I love mine stuffed with applesauce - and maybe I'll try some nutella? Oh yum - thank you soooooo much ~ Krum

I bought an aebleskiver at a flea market last year. I'm going to give these a try this weekend. Do you stuff them with jelly? THX :)
