Elaines Butternut Beauties

- 1 medium butternut squash shopping list
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract shopping list
- 2 tbsp raw sugar plus extra for topping shopping list
- salt & pepper to preference shopping list
- 2 tbsp creamery butter shopping list
How to make it
- Cut squash in half, lengthwise
- seed out the hollow ends
- place 1 tbsp raw sugar into each hollow end
- place 1 tbsp butter into each hollow end and dab across the fleshy surface
- salt & pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp vanilla in each hollow end
- sprinkle more raw sugar over the entire halves
- tent with tinfoil
- bake @ 375*F for 120 minutes, or until the squash is tender and lightly coated with the sugar crust.
- *****The reason the vanilla is added is to dramatically enhance the natural flavor of the squash. It is DELICIOUS, and adds no distinct vanilla flavor itself.
