Ingredients

How to make it

  • In saucepan, add first 9 ingredients and bring to boil
  • Reduce heat and simmer 15-20 minutes or until potatoes are tender
  • Stir in beef and 2 cups milk, then heat through
  • In mixing bowl, add flour and remaining milk and stir until smooth
  • Gradually stir into soup
  • Bring to boil and cook, stirring constantly for 2 minutes or until thick and bubbly
  • Reduce heat and stir in cheese until melted
  • Add desired amount of cayenne and stir
  • Top with bacon just before serving
  • Garnish with sour cream and chives

    Oh. My. Gosh.

    Had another bowl for the expressed purpose of putting a dollop of sour cream in the soup.

    Well I forgot again. Too excited about eating the soup. I can't imagine it tasting any better but the third time's the charm. I'll have to wait an hour or so.

    Forgot the dollop of sour cream in the picture.

    Sauteed the veggies in the bacon grease. This recipe is pretty close to perfect. Only thing it really needs is to be consumed.
